I arrive an hour early to do some work and then to meet up with friends I haven’t seen for months, or sometimes, years. It’s a little bit of Europe in Bloem. A little bit of funk.

Coobah Preller Walk

“I know, a draught of Peroni?” the waiter asks me when I sit down at Coobah in Bloemfontein. They know me well here.

When in Bloemfontein, this is one of the first places I come to. It is also the place I frequent most, to be honest. Coobah at Preller Walk is my joint of choice to catch up with all things social.

I come here not only to quench my thirst, but also to catch up on work and connect with the world. I use their Wi-Fi to check my emails and complete a blog post… or two. They know me well. I come here often.

“Another Peroni?”

I arrive an hour early to do some work and then to meet up with friends I haven’t seen for months, or sometimes, years. It’s a little bit of Europe in Bloemfontein. A little bit of funk.

So what makes this place special? The food is so-so, I have to admit. But, the decor is funky, the cocktails are great and the service is as good as one can get in Bloemfontein. Flat screen TV’s show the latest world news and music videos, and the waiters are not that bad on the eye either.

Come here and connect to the world, catch up with friends and be served in style. Whatever you do, be prepared to stay for a while.

So, before I leave here tonight. I’ll have one more Peroni… but, I didn’t even have to ask!
